چکیده
Purely organic room temperature phosphorescence (RTP) materials have aroused increasing interests in recent years and been widely applied anti-counterfeiting, biological imaging, sensing, etc. Currently, these can be efficiently developed crystalline states amorphous polymer-doped systems. However, achieving RTP solution, especially water is still a formidable challenge. Recently, reports on aqueous phase some feasible design strategies proposed; however, related investigations are limited there lack of systematic reviews. Therefore, we summarized the cases emission with primarily focusing properties efficient (e.g., forming nanoparticles from phosphorescent molecules macrocyclic supramolecular assembly). Moreover, promising applications bio-imaging sensing were discussed. Some detailed perspectives concerning application provided hope to provide inspiration for future development RTP.

Phosphorescence from a pure organic fluorene derivative in solution at room temperature.
A fluorene derivative having both bromo and formyl groups exhibited bright phosphorescence emission in common organic solvents at room temperature. The absolute phosphorescence quantum yield reached 5.9% in chloroform at 298 K. When the fluorene derivative was incorporated into a poly(methyl methacrylate) film, the phosphorescence emission was similarly observed even under air at room temperatu...

A series of heteroleptic Ir(III) metal complexes 1-3 bearing two N-phenyl-substituted pyrazoles and one 2-pyridyl pyrazole (or triazole) ligands were synthesized and characterized to attain highly efficient, room-temperature blue phosphorescence. The N-phenylpyrazole ligands, dfpzH = 1-(2,4-difluorophenyl)pyrazole, fpzH = 1-(4-fluorophenyl)pyrazole, dfmpzH = 1-(2,4-difluorophenyl)-3,5-dimethylp...
متن کاملVisible room-temperature phosphorescence of pure organic crystals via a radical-ion-pair mechanism.
The afterglow of phosphorescent compounds can be distinguished from background fluorescence and scattered light by a time-resolved observation, which is a beneficial property for bioimaging. Phosphorescence emission accompanies spin-forbidden transitions from an excited singlet state through an excited triplet state to a ground singlet state. Since these intersystem crossings are facilitated us...
متن کاملSuppressing molecular motions for enhanced room-temperature phosphorescence of metal-free organic materials
Metal-free organic phosphorescent materials are attractive alternatives to the predominantly used organometallic phosphors but are generally dimmer and are relatively rare, as, without heavy-metal atoms, spin-orbit coupling is less efficient and phosphorescence usually cannot compete with radiationless relaxation processes. Here we present a general design rule and a method to effectively reduc...
متن کاملIntermolecular Electronic Coupling of Organic Units for Efficient Persistent Room‐Temperature Phosphorescence
Although persistent room-temperature phosphorescence (RTP) emission has been observed for a few pure crystalline organic molecules, there is no consistent mechanism and no universal design strategy for organic persistent RTP (pRTP) materials. A new mechanism for pRTP is presented, based on combining the advantages of different excited-state configurations in coupled intermolecular units, which ...
